"New Beginning"

This Is my first year doing the document life project 2015. I am really enjoying the process of building pages and using different mediums, so much different from other crafts of my choice. The documented life project has really taken me to a different place in my life, basically showing my true self and talent.  When I saw the first challenges I was a bit intimidated but as the process went on I started to feel my way through it. It was not as bad as I thought it would be, me coming from being a dedicated scrapbook and elegant card maker this was totally different. As I got a hold of the first one the second one didn't seem as bad. With this challenge I took on a different approach, I am more of a colorful girl using a lot if different colors with flowers lace and bows lol!!  Not for this challenge!! lol!!

For week 2: Art challenge: Gesso
Journal Prompt: "The beginning is always today" by Mary Shelley
I am using the Dylusions art journal by Dyan Reaveley, this is my first year with DLP and I am really enjoying it.  My page is titled "New Beginning" and is written as:
This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, In its place is something that you have left behind.....let it be something good!

When I found this quote it just seemed to fit the life of myself and this week challenge as well. Here I was a bit over whelmed because this was a different approach as far as color, I never use black when creating a project, so here I gessoed my pages, painted it using black paint then while waiting for it to dry I got a bit concerned by all that black space and was wondering what was I going to do with it, but really wanting to start over...... I decided to add doodling around the page, doodle in the corner which is something I never did before either, Lol!! Added my butterflies which I adhered down using my Golden matte medium!  I love this stuff!!  I applied some Ranger glossy accent to some of the butterflies to give it just a little gloss to the page and there you have it.  Overall I think this page came out as a hit, and now I can honestly tell myself there's more colors out there in the world besides rainbow colors!!  I'm not afraid anymore!! Lol!

I'm Totally Awesome!

Sketch 3
I knew I had to participate in this awesome Unscripted Sketch Challenge, I use to do this a good while ago with other friends but forgot about it, but thanks to Carrie Bryant for posting this cute sketch on the Project Life Cards Swap site.  This is a 4x4 card layered onto a 5x7 card stock card, I put a little twist to the card by adding a lovely circle punched picture of my daughter, a yellow and blue circle and to top it all off I want to let it all stand out that she is Awesome!
"I'm So Awesome!"

You're My Type!

Come back and see more of my creations throughout my journey with Project Life!  Thanks for stopping by Sandy's!

It's All About the Colors!

These are a few of my crocheted items that I have been making. Some of them are infinity scarves that are made of different colored yarn, the colors made such a big difference when it came time to come up with a title for this layout.....can't you tell!! Lol!
I love to crochet and have been doing this ever since I was 9yrs. old and I am still at it.
Here's a little crochet story I want to share.

I remember the first blanket me and my sister made it was red and black, it was pretty big too and we wanted a box of cereal while our mom was at work which was just across the street....we left the house unsupervised and we sold it to an old lady sitting up on her balcony for a little or nothing....... just a box of cereal!!  That was kinda silly to say now but I've learned my lesson now and the most important then thing then was that cereal. Lol!!!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by Sandy's!

"Be You, Be Humble"

I just wanted to do a quick share of one of my art project I did today while scrapping with friends at my local library, this is my first realist person I have ever drew, but give credit to the artist Ajae McCain for creating such a beautiful piece of work.  When I saw this in my friends magazine I knew that this was going to be a project that I wanted to try, I love this and I think it turned out pretty good.

I am looking forward to creating more beautiful projects like this!

National Scrapbooking Day!

Yesterday was such a fun and exciting day, hanging out with my great friends I just didn't have time to post anything that I completed so here I am a few days
 later!

This is my orange "Smash" book here, we had to basically pick a statement from    the sheet given "Journal for a day" a list of 31 prompts and incorporate it on your page, but we only had to pick 4, (20 mins. for each page.  Here I made it a full page spread.  What made smashing even more fun is when we were done with our pages we were given a rafffle ticket for each page completed #somuchfun. This was a great challenge for me because I normally takes my time but I was definitely in gear for this and it came out great. My 2 page spread done!!!

This one is really fun! Create a page about....."5 things you love about ME" I decided to use a picture of my
photogenic  daughter Y'ndia because it just seemed much easier to write more about her then myself, I think this turned out really nice and all of these are very true!!! I love her to pieces!!!

The last prompt I used from the list was "Completed a OMG moment" this was just the perfect photo for this because I went to a basketball game with my husband last week and during the half time session they had a slammed dunk contest and this contestant jumped so high that he got his foot stuck in the rim, so that is definitely my OMG moment.

Later that day we did layouts and these are the ones I completed, I think they turned out pretty good!

And we also had an Origami Owl jewelry party, we had so much going on that day it was almost hard to keep up with everything that was going on! Lol. I was so into all the fabulous pieces I decided to host a party, which will be in June.  What a fun NSD we had!!

"Just Me!"

This is my first altered canvas, I always wanted to make an altered canvas but didn't really know how or where to start, I would watch different YouTube videos and different tutorials, but I also learned that there is no right or wrong way to do it........It all in what you feel and what you want to create, so this is what I came up with and I think it came out pretty good for first try.  I Iove what I have created.

This is what I started off with, basically priming my canvas, putting different layers and textures to make the canvas have a different look, I was unsure where to place my metal embellishments, that took the most time, but once I had everything in it's place and where I wanted them it was a breeze.  I got all the sprays I had....didn't have many but I used what I had and started misting away and then I started to realize.....this is something I always wanted to do.

This is my creation that I was longing to make but didn't have the nerves or even the courage to construct.

I titled it  "Just Me!" Because it was just I who waited so long to create a work of art.

I have put my fears and intimidation to the side and now I am ready to start on my next one!!   I love my "Just Me!" Canvas!!!

Thanks for taking the time to come and check out my creations!!!

Botanical Tea

I love this mini album!!!.....This is the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea collection, all I could say when I saw this paper collection was WOW!!! such beautiful paper, graphic 45 always get it right every time!!  Waiting to see what is next on the line!  Lol!!
This is my lovely Botanical Tea mini album embossed with flourishes and large pink flowers, and just an added touch of bling. Those of you that know me, knew that I would have put many flowers and embellishments on the front of that album, but to look at the pretty paper it does not need a lots of embellishments, the beauty of the paper says it all. It has beautiful flowers, lace trims, many pull outs, large photo mats, and plenty places for photos.

Here is a acrylic pocket with white trim that holds a 8 x 10 photo and you can journal on the back and place another photo behind for additional photos.  Along side there, you have a long gated pocket and a acrylic magnetic pocket that holds photos and journaling on both sides.

Next is a large accordion album with a large folder to place more large pictures as large as 8x10, and cut apart from the collection are held in this large a acrylic pocket.

A waterfall page that hold 8 photos, and has a large photo mat for larger photos and journaling that is held down with a magnetic closure.

On the left is a place for smaller photos 3x4 or Instagram photos.....and a beautiful teapot page with another large photo mat.

Large accordion album with 2 large photo mats (not shown) held in place with this beautiful eyelet lace and 2 corner pockets....to the right is another little mini album with lots of flip and pull out tags and pockets.  Love this page!

Here is the inside of the little mini...so cute!

see more pages, this page has a belly band to hold a 4x6 photo.

Last page that has this large photo mat and is held down magnetically.

Handmade With Love

I know it has been sometime since I posted anything, but here I am ready to show you some of my latest creations I have been working on.  Sometimes we know that life tends to get in the way of things that we really want to do and seems to push crafting and even the little things you want to do behind, but I have been working on different mini albums and other craft projects and also teaching classes on how to construct mini albums, so I have been busy, so stay connected to my blog so see the many projects I have been working on!!!

This chipboard mini album was created using the Pincushion Collection by Bo Bunny and the Authentique Carefree Collection, these collection compliments each other very well, the browns, greens and tans are just perfect together.  I adorned the font of this album using one of the prima dolls Jamie Dougherty, she is so pretty.  I colored the image using prisma colored pencils, I used many different trims, flowers, bling and pearls to complete the cover, and to protect the corners of the album I used the Tim Holts metal angel corners.

this mini album has many pockets for photos
here is a flip up page to place pictures on both pages and a pull out photo mat for more photos and journaling on the back.

 lots of room for photos
a belly band to hold a large photo and behind the dollies are pull out and ephemera from the paper collection.

love the page, I think this is my favorite page, I love all the layering, trims and that beautiful heart punch by Martha Stewart.  A large photo mat to hold a much larger photo (5x7)

Here is the back and spine of the mini album

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and check out my creations!!
